INFOFOUNT AUDIOBOOK STYLE DESCRIPTIONS
InfoFount's audiobook production style philosophy is simple. Match the material it to the listener's needs and reason/s for purchasing the audiobook, while respecting the content and style of the author, BUT with one dominant principle - the listener must be interested. If a listener is bored to tears by flat, slow, and monotonous material, no matter how valuable and beautiful, they will likely turn it off or tune out. Then, the value of the material is lost. We know from our experience directing audio presentations, plays, videos, and movies ( and from research studies ) that an energetic pace, an enjoyable experience, and unpredictable / non stereotypical material will command greater involvement, comprehension, and retention. InfoFount's audiobooks are made with these concepts in mind. They are made with the following styles as listed. About Music and Sound Effects The music really sets the mood and can greatly enhance the experience. InfoFount has a large library of music and composes music for some of its titles. All of our audiobooks have music. Some tiles use it extensively for breaks, transitions, and emphasis of key points. We want the music to enhance, not conflict with the narration. We rarely play music under the voice except at the beginnings of new tracks. Sound Effects Sound effects really bring the material off the page and engage the imagination. Many of InfoFount's titles, especially the Martial Strategists series, and some of the Transformational Greats series use sound effects extensively. |

Ross Armetta |
|
| Ross Armetta has appeared in independent film and theater projects in California and Hawaii.
He has written and produced educational, entertainment, industrial, and advertising film, video, and audio programs. Ross is our principal narrator and has developed imaginative "characters" for some of our audiobooks including Fairy Tales of Japan. Ross trained for four years (70 theatrical/film units) at the University of Hawaii with Terrence Knapp (a well known and award winning British actor and protege of Laurence Olivier and John Gielguld) as well as with Glen Cannon an accomplished screen actor and President of the Hawaii Screen Actors Guild. He also has trained with several other teachers and institutions for theater, screen, musical theater, improvisation, and dance / movement including Russian Biomechanics and Ballet. Ross is an accomplished Shakespearean actor and believes that the original lively, unrestrained style Shakespeare was played with has a lot to offer an audience and actor on many levels. He believes this style is the perfect foundation for audiobook narration.A Shakespearean actor due to the heavy vocal demands must be a good vocalist. Ross says "My narrative philosophy is generally to bring it alive, off the page, never read ... the performance should be interesting and informative, retained, and something the listener wants to play again and share with those they care about. " Ross has performed in theaters throughout Hawaii including the prestigious Diamond Head Theater production of Mame where he played Lindsey Woolsey (Mame's boyfriend). He has also played other major and leading roles including Bob Cratchit in a Christmas Carol, King Leontes in Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale and Prince Don Pedro in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth in Macbeth, Marc Antony in Julius Caesar, Hamlet in Hamlet, and Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew. Ross has practiced Martial Arts since he was 6 years old including Kyokushin-Kai (bare knuckle - full contact) and Pankration (open style martial arts). He resides in Hawaii and travels to Southern California for occasional film, tv, and voice over work. |
